A Simple Woman's Daybook

I have seen this lovely prompt from Peggy, who also blogs at The Simple Woman, all over the net, but have never done it here at Daily Portion. Peggy asks, "Are you content to linger on the simple things of life...then join me in taking a little look into the day plans and thoughts of those of us who are focusing on simplicity...the beauty of the everyday moments around us."

This is a woman after my own heart!

So, here we go:

FOR TODAY, July 6th, 2009...
Outside my window...the sun is shining, the air already heavy with humidity.
I am thinking...of my dear friend Rachel, returning home with her family from China later this week.
I am thankful for... my home, my cheerful, open-hearted boys, my loving husband who makes my eyes light up.

From the kitchen...there will be steak fajitas later, with peppers from our garden.
I am wearing...workout clothes. I have at date with Leslie Sansone at some point today.
I am creating...a surprise for my mother-in-law, that will make her smile.
I am going...no farther than the mailbox today. :-)
I am reading...Masterpiece aloud to the boys, saving the latest Lisa Samson for upcoming vacation for me. I've had a bad run at the library lately.
I am hoping...to keep things in balance this week-- to keep the relaxed pace of summer intact in the midst of preparation and planning.
I am hearing...the shouts of happy boys outside in a Nerf dart gun battle, something about spies behind enemy lines. . .
Around the house...there are LEGOS and laundry all over. So, the usual. . .
One of my favorite things...is a second cup of coffee mid-morning, feels like a treat.
A few plans for the rest of the week: include preparing for some time away, capturing the latest blooms in the garden with the camera, and celebrating my sister's birthday.

It is amazing how full even a simple life is when considered with all our senses. Wishing you a lovely day!

Thanks for the link!! I've seen this also but never checked it out. This really forces you to notice and enjoy the delights that just being alive can bring. (p.s. I LOVE your delicious bowl of strawberries!)
